Kori Crawford, Principal
Every great journey begins with a single step. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA and moved to Austin in the middle of my high school career. Eighteen years ago, after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, my journey in education began when I applied for a position in the Austin Independent School District. Gonzalo Garza High School took a chance on me and hired me as teaching assistant, and I was forever changed. It was there that I learned education was my calling. While at Garza High School, I went on to become a math and special education teacher and department chair. Once I received my masters in Educational Administration at Texas State University, I worked as the School Improvement Facilitator at Crockett High School and later as the 9th grade assistant principal. After four years at Crockett, I had the opportunity to work as the Academic Director of Travis High School where I was the instructional leader on campus. Each step in my educational career has now brought me back to Crockett High School where I have the remarkable and exciting opportunity to serve as the newest principal.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I also enjoy going for hikes with my dog, going to yoga classes, and reading great books.
Being back at Crockett High School is a tremendous honor. I am ready to work together to build the best school we possibly can. Let's enjoy the journey, enjoy the success. And together, we will be Always Victorious!
Assistant Principal's Office
Jessica Sadev, Assistant Principal - 10th Grade (Cohort 2024)
ph. 512-414-0462 (Google Voice 512.649.1293)
As a new Assistant Principal at Crockett, Ms. Jessica Sadev is so excited to be joining the Crockett community this year. She will be working with the Class of 2024. Ms. Sadev is a proud Longhorn. (Hook ‘Em!) She graduated in 2005, and returned to UT-Austin last year to complete her second Masters of Education through UT’s Principalship program.
Prior to joining you at Crockett, Ms. Sadev spent two years as an Assistant Principal in a public charter high school, and was an instructional Coach before that. Her career in education began when she taught math and science at the middle school level in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She came to education as a second career, and truly loves her work with students. Her passion for equity and advocacy for all students is what drives her to persevere, especially when challenges arise. In 2020, Ms. Sadev looks forward to building authentic relationships with students, families and staff.
Personally, Ms. Sadev loves to spend her free time doing yoga, paddleboarding, and hanging out with her husband and two young kiddos at home. She can’t wait to introduce herself to each of you soon!
Cynthia Julian, Assistant Principal - 9th Grade (Cohort 2025)
ph. 512-414-7803 (Google Voice 512.593.8693)
Ms. Julian is proud to support Cougar Class of 2021. She grew up in the greater Houston area in the small town of Richwood, Texas. She attended University of Houston-Clear Lake and started her teaching career at the high school she graduated from, Brazoswood HS. Later, she moved to the Austin area where she taught Algebra all the way to Calculus and attended graduate school at Texas State University (Go Bobcats). Four years ago, she made her way to Crockett ECHS where she first met the Class of 2021 students. That first year at Crockett she taught many of our current seniors, as freshmen, and now as their assistant principal she is so excited to get to walk along side of them as they walk across the graduation stage! When she is not spending time with her students she enjoys being with family and friends, yoga, and gardening.

Mrs. King graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Biology through the UTeach Program, and is currently finishing a graduate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy. In college she fell in love with Crockett while working as an intern in the science department, which led her to teaching here and eventually serving as the Science Instructional Specialist and Cheerleading Coach. This year she is excited to transition into the role of Assistant Principal to support the Class of 2022 through the next four years and into the future. Outside of the school day she enjoys spending time with her husband and pets, showing her Cougar P.R.I.D.E. at athletic and fine art events, working out, and relaxing in nature.
Jordan Benson, Academy Director
ph. 512-414-7898 (Google Voice 214.799.1984)
Jordan Benson has been serving the Crockett Early College High School community as the Academic Director since 2018. Her leadership career began at Young Women's Leadership Academy at Arnold Middle School in Grand Prairie ISD where she led the Science Department and joyfully taught Science to 8th grade young folx. She was recruited to open Sadler Means YWLA in Austin ISD as a founding administrator where she served as an Assistant Principal for four years before finding a home at Crockett.
Ms. Benson grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of North Texas specializing in human cognition and organizational psychology. She was pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resource Development when she discovered her calling to public school education. Her role as a Science teacher at the largest all girl's public school in Texas sharpened her mission to be precision-focused on empowerment, access, equity and social emotional learning for disenfranchised student populations. With these goals in mind, she earned her Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Texas at Arlington in 2014.
During her free time, Ms. Benson enjoys building community with friends and family, going on hikes with her dog, exploring new places, and learning about/engaging in equity work in the field of education.
