October 12 was the official grand opening of the Construction Technology building. Several state elected officials, school board members and district officials came for the opening.

On Wednesday, October 12,2016 special guest speakers will announced the grand opening of the $2 million construction technology building for students. Special Guest speakers included: Texas State Representative Paul Workman, District 47 who has served in the House of Representatives since 2011. Representative Workman serves as Vice Chairman of the House Select Committee on State and Federal Power and Responsibility. Commissioner Julian Alvarez III, representing Labor of the Texas Workforce Commission will also speak. Commissioner Alvarez was appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott to the Commission, which represents the interest of Texas workers with respect to TWC services and ensures that their concerns are considered in all Commission actions. Also speaking will be AISD School Board Member Paul Saldana. Mr. Saldana represents District 6 and serves as Vice-President of the Austin School District Board of Trustees and School Board member Ann Teich.
