What is F.I.T?
FIT stands for Flexible Instructional Time. F.I.T sessions are designed by the individual teacher to support student learning outside of normal class instructional time, but inside the school day.
Examples of F.I.T. sessions might include: Tutoring, make up work (quizzes etc.), reteach, review lessons, extension lessons, EOC test prep, and study sessions.
Why F.I.T?
The purpose of F.I.T. is to systematically ensure that every child receives the additional time and support required to master essential standards and to learn at high levels. The goals of a successfully executed F.I.T program are to reduce student failures and student stress and to give teachers a time to work with students outside of the traditional instructional period but inside of the school day thus reducing the amount of time needed for before/after school tutorials.
