Future Construction Trades Classroom Taking Shape

On the south grounds of the Crockett campus, the new Construction Trades classroom is under construction. This facility is scheduled to be open by August 2016 for fall classes.

Varela Awarded First Robbie Gaston Celebration Of Life Scholarship

Bubba Varela has been awarded the first Robert "Robbie" Gaston Celebration of Life Scholarship by the Gaston family. The family chose Bubba Varela for his demonstration of the qualities of leadership, patriotism, friendship and humor.

School Board Congratulates Art Winners!

Grisela Rivera and Alanis Lee were congratulated for their state art awards by members of the Austin ISD school board on Monday, May 16. Art instructor Jennifer Nowzaradan and Interim Principal Sissy Camacho accompanied the students.

Trustee Awards Presented

171 students were awarded Trustee Awards by School Board members Paul Saldana, District 6 and Yasmine Wagner, District 7 with principal Sissy Camacho. These students were the top 10% of the 1st thru 5th 6 week grading period.

'Potential New South Austin Magnet Program' Meeting, May 24

AISD will hold an information session with a brief presentation and gallery walk. Meeting will be held in the David Crockett High School Library on May 24th from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Community members will have the opportunity to review program proposals and offer input and guidance.

Four Seniors Receive Mason's Scholarships

Four seniors were awarded special certificates, medallions and each also received a $1,000.00 college scholarship awarded by the Onion Creek Masonic Lodge Thursday, May 5.

Nurse Moffitt Speaks At National Summit

Nurse Cassie Moffitt, RN spoke at the JDRF TypeOne Nation Summit in Irving, Texas last weekend. She is currently a certified diabetes educator (CDE) and uses her knowledge and and experience to educate others in her role as a school nurse for the AISD. Great Job, Nurse Moffitt!

Mrs. Snyder Selected By Tamu As "Very Important Counselor"

Michelle Kailey Snyder, Crockett College and Career counselor was selected by Texas A & M as a "Very Important counselor of 2016" Each year A&M recognizes the top 25 counselors in the state for their dedication to student success and efforts to help students apply to college.

Guitar Students Win Sweepstakes At UIL

The Crockett Varsity and non-varsity guitar groups won Sweepstakes at UIL on April 22. The beginning group received excellent ratings on stage and in the sight reading room. Great Job!
