Application and Next Steps
To apply, students must submit the program application online before January 23, 2023 through the CommonApp found on the AISD Parent Portal.
- Missed the common application deadline? Not to worry - apply here!
- Please note, the Common Application typically opens October of each school year for families to apply for the following school year.
All students applying in Grade 8 to start P-TECH once at Crockett are highly recommended to participate in a Summer Bridge program where they receive program orientation, take the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) exam to assess "college-readiness," and meet peers. Students who meet the college-readiness requirements during the Summer Bridge are eligible to take additional dual credit courses with Austin Community College (ACC) beyond the construction courses in the P-TECH program.

- You will first take Principles of Construction Technology in 9th grade as an introductory Career and Technical Education (CTE) course before moving on to P-TECH construction courses.
- Students applying as a Crockett sophomore:
- If you have not taken the Principles of Construction Technology CTE course, you will have to participate in an application and interview process with the Construction faculty.
- Students apply from another AISD high school for transfer:
- You will first take Principles of Construction Technology in 9th or 10th grade as an introductory Career and Technical Education (CTE) course before moving on to P-TECH construction courses.
- If you have not taken the Principles of Construction CTE course and are transferring to start at Crockett your Junior year, you will have to participate in an application and interview process with the Construction faculty.
