A three year pathway into the Automotive Industry
Automotive Basics
This course provides the students with the basic knowledge of the ten major systems and their components and how they function on vehicles today. We learn about the different types of tools and equipment used in the auto profession. We learn about automotive safety and proper procedures in the shop. Students will get S/P2 online safety certification.
Automotive Technology
The focus of this course is to learn maintenance, light repairs and the principles of diagnosing and servicing these systems. The students will spend 50% of the time working in the lab. The students will learn to use the shop equipment and work on shop vehicles. Students will get certified in ALLDATA online service manual. Students will re-certify in S/P2 online safety course.
Advanced Technology Automotive
The focus of this course is to teach the theory servicing and repairing automobiles. The students will gain knowledge and skills in the diagnosing and repairing of vehicle systems. The students will spend 50% of the time working in the lab. The students will learn to service, write and work on customer's vehicles. Students will get certified in OSHA 10-Hour Automotive. Students will re-certify in S/P2 online safety course.
